How to Register Your Animal As An ESA

 October 27th 7:00 am The process for registering your animal as an ESA may not be as difficult as you think. Slippery Rock has a couple requirements. Some of those are: A medical recommendation note from a Dr. or a Psychiatrist. Your animal must be up to date on all shots and vaccinations. They will also need a current checkup. If you live with anyone on campus you need their signature of approval. Schedule a meeting after you have all these forms filled out and you could get your animal registered! Registering an animal as an ESA is not just so you can have your pet on campus. It truly is for people that need the support of their animal. Taking care of an animal can be hard for some. If you are thinking of doing this make sure you have the right reasons to apply and know your responsibilities.

What A Typical Day Looks Like With Snickers

 October 26th 1:55 pm Having an animal requires some sort of routine. Having an animal on Campus definitely requires a routine. It is very important to have a routine and times throughout the day that you can see and check in on your animal. Your animal is your responsibility, meaning things like cleanliness and happiness. By making sure at least those two things are taken care of and provided for your animal, it will give them a well lived and happy life. If you help them with what they need, they will help you with what you need. After I wake up I clean Snicker's water bowl and replace it with fresh cool water. I check to make sure she has enough food in her bowl as well. As I get ready in front of my floor mirror she comes over and sits with me. Soon enough it is time for class so I say bye to her until I come back. I usually get done with class around 12:30. After class I come back to my dorm, give Snickers a big hug and either take a nap with her or I will eat. I also feed her...

Why Having An ESA At College Benefits Me.

 October 25th 2022 11:13 am The reason I decided to finally register my cat Snickers to be an ESA, which stands for Emotional Support Animal, was to help with my mental health. Being able to have her here at school with me makes me feel a lot happier and releases any stress i may be feeling. After going to class I can come back to my dorm and be able to give her all the hugs and cuddles. While I am doing homework she will often lay on my lap or beside me. It is nice to have her prescience there. Often times I get in a depressive state and struggle to get out of it. My boyfriend is in the military and is currently stationed in North Carolina. A lot of the time I miss him and feel lonely. Snickers makes me feel a lot better by just coming up to me and laying on me and every night she sleeps on my pillow by my head. My mental has improved a lot since last semester since having Snickers here with me

Living at College With A Cat

 October, 24th 2022 11:53 pm Hello! For this post I wanted to talk about my experience and share stories about what it is like living at college with a cat. I have a 10 year old cat named Snickers. Snickers is a calico cat that is very easy going and still loves to play as if she is still 4. In my dorm i have 3 roommates. We each have our own room and also share a living room with two bathrooms. I was hesitant to bring Snickers because I didn't know if it would work out. Let me say that I was completely wrong. My roommates absolutely love and adore her. She is living her best relaxed and chill life. She has a pillow in the window of our living room and loves to sleep on it throughout the day. She also loves being able to see all the people walk past outside. You could honestly call her a "people watcher". Haha.
